Here are some warm up sketches of Mickey Mouse. I was trying some things out with the brush settings but it started to bring me to the point of overworking my line work. I need to keep that in mind. Also the proportions, I notice a couple of my Mickey's are a bit stretched.
I felt a little more comfortable drawing Donald but it was pointed out the heads are slightly too big. The proportions, they got me again! Either way it was a fun exercise and I might try to do it more often. Perhaps next time I'll work with pencil directly on paper. On my personal computer it's kind of uncomfortable, with the screen space, to try to have photoshop and youtube open to draw.
Beginning to develop my own character, decided his name is Bancroft. He's a house spirit (fairy or brownie). I need to delve more into his attitude and personal preference. I think I was getting more into it toward the end. Also I don't normally start a sketch in photoshop, I was trying to become more comfortable with it but for now I think I'll keep my brainstorming to paper.
